This Saturday, 8 March is International Women's Day.

AAG celebrates the achievements of all women, especially our members working tirelessly to support our vision of a world where every person is valued and respected as we age.

In honour of #IWD2025, we'd like to send a big AAG shout out to Emeritus Professor Julie Byles AO, who diligently represents AAG on an international scale as Chair of the International Association of Gerontology (Asia Oceania) Social Research and Planning sub-committee, Head of the International Longevity Centre (ILC) - Australia and co-President of the ILC-Global Alliance.

Julie's commitment to expanding AAG's presence internationally ensures we continue to have a seat at the table on the global stage. Read more about Julie's involvement over the past year, as well as catch up on all the news from across the IAGG-Asia Oceania Region in the IAGG-AOR February Newsletter.

You can also join the #IWD2025 conversation and "strike a pose" on social media to encourage others to #AccelerateAction for women's equality, especially older women.

AAG's online community platform milestone

This month, the AAG online community platform celebrates its 2nd birthday!

In March 2023, we successfully launched the site in support of AAG members to engage with peers, share insights, participate in meaningful discussions and expand knowledge in the fields of ageing and ageing research.

Separate from any other social media giant and restricted to AAG members, feedback from the current and past member surveys confirm that the platform is a real value-add to your membership. We're proud to be one of only a few member organisations to offer a dedicated space for members to connect and collaborate.
